What is the LIHTC program?

LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) is a federal program created in 1986 that gives tax incentives to developers who build or renovate affordable rental housing. Communities like Bluff View are required to rent to households below certain income thresholds at rents that remain affordable.

Importantly, rent at Allers Landing is not calculated based on your individual income — it is a fixed monthly rate. If you qualify income-wise, you pay the standard rent, regardless of whether you're at the low or high end of the income range.
